How to switch from GameChanger — and keep your stats

The usual reason teams stay put mid-season is the thought of starting back at zero. You don't have to. Export your team's stats from GameChanger, import them into DiamondKeeper, and your batting totals come across with you. Free to switch, free to watch.

Opens in any phone browser — add it to your home screen, no app store needed.

What comes over, and what doesn't

Straight answer first, so you can decide before you spend any time on it.

✓ Carries over
  • At-bats (AB)
  • Hits (H)
  • Runs (R)
  • Runs batted in (RBI)
  • Walks (BB)
  • Strikeouts (K)
  • Doubles (2B)
  • Triples (3B)
  • Home runs (HR)

  • Game-by-game history

GameChanger's export covers batting, so batting is what there is to bring. We'd rather tell you that up front than have you find out after the fact.

In practice that means the numbers a player's season gets judged on — average, on-base, the counting stats families screenshot and send to grandparents — come across with the move. Pitch counts start fresh from your first game in DiamondKeeper, and required-rest compliance tracks from that point forward.

A note on this feature: stat import is new, and we're still refining it with the teams testing DiamondKeeper this season. It's working, and we'd rather have it out where coaches can use it — but keep your exported file and your scorebook until you've checked the numbers. If anything looks off after an import, email us and we'll sort it out with you.

How to export your stats from GameChanger

Check this first: you need to be listed as a Staff member on the team — head coach or team admin. If you're on a follower account, the export option simply won't appear, which catches a lot of people out. Export is available for baseball, softball and basketball teams.
📱 In the GameChanger app
  1. Open GameChanger and select your team in the Home tab.
  2. Go to the Stats tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Export Stats to download the CSV.
💻 On the web
  1. Sign in at web.gc.com and select your team.
  2. Open your team's Stats section. (Filter Stats lets you choose specific games.)
  3. Click Export Stats to download the CSV.
One thing to watch: the export respects whatever stat filters you have applied. If you've been looking at, say, home games only, that's what you'll get. Clear your filters first if you want full season totals.

Then bring it into DiamondKeeper

1

Open Manage team

In DiamondKeeper, go to Teams → Manage team → Import season stats.

2

Add the CSV

Upload the file or paste its contents, then preview what's about to come in.

3

Import and keep playing

Your batting totals attach to the right players, so the season carries on from where it is. Score your next game as normal.

Please do this: check your players against your scorebook after the import, and hang on to the exported file until you have. It takes a couple of minutes, it means you can tell a parent with confidence that the numbers are right, and if something needs correcting it's much easier before another game goes on top of it.

Export steps above follow GameChanger's own documentation: GameChanger Help Center — "Exporting Season Stats" (updated July 2026). If their app changes, their help page is the authority.

When's the right time to switch?

Between seasons is the cleanest — nothing is mid-flight and every stat category starts together.

Mid-season works too, and that's the point of the import. If the reason you've been putting it off is that your batting numbers would reset, that's the part this solves — the totals come with you instead of starting again.

The one thing to know either way: pitch counts begin tracking in DiamondKeeper from your first game with it, so if your league requires documented rest, keep whatever record you already have for the earlier part of the season.

Why teams move to DiamondKeeper

Families watch free. Live scoreboard, the field with every player by name, play-by-play, box score and video — on a share link, with no account to create and nothing to buy. That's the main reason coaches hear about us from a parent rather than the other way round.

Tools built from coaching. Umpire assist with a game clock, pitch-count compliance and call review. Fielding rotations that guarantee Little League, PONY, Cal Ripken or Babe Ruth mandatory-play minimums. Streaming that runs on your own share link with no YouTube or Facebook required.

To be fair about it: GameChanger is a capable, mature app with the largest footprint in youth baseball, and plenty of teams are perfectly happy on it. This page is here for the ones who've decided to move and don't want to lose their season doing it.

Common questions about switching

Which stats actually come over from GameChanger?

Your team's batting line: at-bats, hits, runs, RBIs, walks, strikeouts, doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases. Those are the numbers a player's season is usually measured by, and they come across as your starting point in DiamondKeeper rather than zeros. Give them a check against your scorebook once they're in.

Why doesn't pitching come over?

GameChanger's export covers batting, so batting is what there is to bring. Pitching totals, pitch counts and game-by-game history aren't in the file, so we can't import what isn't there. Pitch counts start tracking in DiamondKeeper from your first game, and required-rest compliance works from that point forward.

I don't see an Export Stats option — what's wrong?

Almost always it's the account type. Only accounts listed as Staff on the team — head coach or team admin — can export stats in GameChanger. On a follower account the option doesn't appear at all. Ask whoever runs the team to add you as Staff, or to run the export and send you the file.

Can we switch in the middle of a season?

Yes — that's what the import is for. Bring the batting totals across and the season carries on from where it is rather than restarting. The import is a new feature we're still refining with this season's teams, so keep your exported file and check the numbers once they're in.

Does switching cost anything?

No. Switching is free, scoring is free, and families watch for free on every plan. There's no migration fee and nothing to buy to move your team across.

Do we have to move the whole league at once?

No. A single team can switch on its own without waiting for the league. Leagues that do come across get a dashboard for teams, rosters, schedules and standings, plus a league-wide pitch-count safety report.
